“I wanted a chameleonic project, from every point of view. I was looking for a design sofa with a dimension that could ideally grow endlessly. At the same time, I also wanted a simple, traditional two- or three-seater sofa. Undeniably comfortable, soft. A sofa suitable for contract spaces as well as for the home living room. And for all the places we inhabit today, where functions overlap spontaneously.”

Biggie is a complete collection: from bed to lounge chair, from armchair to sofa. A system made up of formal details that combine the different moments of living.

“A new collection contains every part of the brand. Twils wants to evolve in the living area. But its most established expertise is in the night area. Biggie embraces both: I wanted to create a fil rouge that unites and enhances all the company’s know-how. I thought about the structure of the bed, and that of the sofa. Reduced to their essence, they are not so different: a rigid frame containing a soft part. So I first designed a shell, a structure that offers multiple possibilities and solutions.” — Luca Nichetto

Biggie is a collection with an original composition that stems from a simple observation: there exists a geography of taste and habits.

“Southern Europe loves modular sofas. Central Europe, Northern Europe and the Far East, especially in the high-end market, prefer two- or three-seater configurations.” — Luca Nichetto

The aesthetics of Biggie work both free-standing and in modular form. It is based on a versatile, repetitive scheme that can express different types: the sofa, the bed, a generously sized chaise longue. It encompasses everything: north and south, rationality and softness. Biggie is, as its name suggests, a wide-ranging collection.

The Biggie collection by Luca Nichetto expands with two new products. The three-seater sofa is an evolution of the designer’s research into developing a passe-partout shell that requires a single mould.

Biggie Mono rethinks Biggie in a purely domestic context, in a setting where living is synonymous with comfort and with a very Mediterranean idea of the living room: a place for long conversations among friends, a lounge for family time, an informal and relaxed environment. A single shell, with wide, soft, enveloping cushions.

Biggie Freestyle is a daybed designed to be versatile and multifunctional. The cushion support system is designed to be placed freely along the entire perimeter of the base. The system is the result of pragmatic aesthetic thinking, which chooses a noble and warm material such as wood and a sinuous form.
