Cast - Desalto table

Cast is born from the idea of a single structural element capable of generating multiple configurations. The table takes shape starting from a die-cast aluminum leg, designed both as a sculptural component and a construction module. Its inclined geometry, defined by taut surfaces and smooth connections, is not just a formal mark but a true load-bearing architecture. This element becomes the generative principle of the design: a technical component that, replicated and combined, allows the table to be built as a system.

The project stems from research around a structural element understood as the origin of a wider system. The table is defined by a cast aluminum leg that combines a load-bearing function with expressive value, featuring an inclined geometry that alternates sharp tensions and soft transitions. This component becomes the fulcrum of the design: a module that, when repeated and combined, allows for different configurations, transforming the table into a flexible structure where technique and form dialogue in an essential way.

The die-cast aluminum leg is conceived as a structural module around which the entire table system develops. Depending on the number and arrangement of the elements, it is possible to generate different configurations capable of adapting to various spatial needs. The juxtaposition of the legs allows for the creation of rectangular tables of various sizes, in which the rhythm of the structures creates an architectural breakdown beneath the top. The project thus configures itself as an open system, where a single technical component becomes the tool to generate multiple typologies and proportions.

The structure of the table enhances the materiality of the casting and highlights its geometric purity along with the precision of the volumes. The top can be declined in various material solutions, capable of modifying the character of the table while keeping its design identity unchanged. The hand-spatula concrete finish introduces a more architectural and textured dimension, marbles embellish it, and wood essences add warmth and natural depth to the composition.
